In the run up to Easter we got up to lots of amazing activities at Seend. Easter is a very special time for us and we love to take the time to teach our pupils all about Easter whilst engaging in fun activities.
In the last two weeks of term, we held Lent reflections in school. We invited parents and members of the Clergy from Holy Cross Church in Seend to join us. Our Lent reflections were led by pupils and included moments of prayer, reflection, and an invitation for all to participate. The children led everyone very respectfully through the reflection and we spent time thinking about Jesus’ sacrifices and how the period of Lent allows us to feel closer to God, the Church, and our families.
Throughout the period of Lent we reminded ourselves of its significance to Christians. Pupils learnt that many people choose to give something up at this time of year. The children were given the option to donate or give up some items of food throughout the period of Lent to help them understand how much it means to Christians.
We also held an Easter service in Church led by the children. On the final day of term the children and staff placed daffodils on the cross as a symbol of new life and new beginnings.
