We’re challenging everyone to join us in the Summer Reading Challenge!
The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to prevent the summer holidays negatively affecting pupil’s reading skills. Each year over 700,000 children continue to build on their reading skills by setting themselves a reading goal for the summer holidays.
Some benefits of the Summer Reading Challenge are:
- Significantly improves reading confidence and independence
- Ensures pupils are ready for their return to school
- Aids the successful transition between year groups and key stages
- Contributes to all pupils’ achievement regardless of reading level
